The week in photos – Twenty Six

Salem from Tehran!

Welcome to another week in photos. I’ve just touched down in the captial of Iran and it’s hot! Things haven’t gotten off to a great start with Turkish Airlines losing my backpack. Not ideal but I have to wait around for them to locate it- hopefully it won’t be too long. There wasn’t much that could be done except eat and smoke a shisha- Those things are addicitve.

I have sixteen days all up here and my main objective is to photograph the beautiful mosques, spend some time in the desert and also get a better understanding of Islam and also the pre Islamic history as it’s one of the oldest civilisations on the planet.

The internet here is heavily sensored so I won’t be publishing as frequently on Facebook, but Instagram is still in use so feel free to follow me there.

I hope you enjoy this edition of the week in photos. As usual, let me know which ones you like most.

Jimmy.

pamukkale

The mineral pools at Pamukkale. This one is man made and the only ones filled with water.

pamukkale sunset

I little disappointing the pools weren’t full of water. However, the sunset wasn’t too shabby.

Hierapolis

The ruin theater in Hierapolis which is an ancient city that was used primarily as a health spa. Situated a ten minute minute walk from the mineral pools, it was capable of holding up to 12,000 people back in its hey day around 2 B.C.

No shortage of ruins along the Olympos coatline.
