The week in photos – “The people”

HI all! I’ve just come back from a few days in a town called Sisophon about an hour and a half drive from Siem Reap with some new friends. There I met some new friends who worked at the local hospital in the midwifery ward. I also had a chance to visit it as well and see the good work the volunteers are doing to make a difference. We also got to check out a Buddhist blessing ceremony of our friend’s aunty where there was a huge feast afterwards. To finish off we went sightseeing in the countryside and cooked and ate the corn before sunset in a small eucalyptus plantation by the corn fields.

I’m currently in my hostel room with a dose of the man flu at the moment. I have a flight from Vientiane, Laos tomorrow so I’m looking to updating you from there next time!

This week’s photos are of the local people that I captured during the week. Hope you enjoy!

  1. I love the candid people shots. Instead of just capturing the way they look, it captures a tiny bit of their essence in that moment of time.

That little girl reminds me of when I was young and forced to pray. When everyone closed their eyes, I would look around and people watch. lol

  2. Were the parents begging? Cause I have heard that those kids are often drugged to stay asleep. ..
On another note how are you setting ur white balance jimmy? Photos are great as always!

    • Hi Mel,

It was actually from the taxi that I took this photo on my iPhone. Most of the time I shoot in auto white balance and adjust it in lightroom. Mainly through laziness and sometimes I forget to change the iso back to whatever it should be
