Music expresses that which cannot be said and on which is impossible to be silent
I don’t know any souls out there who can tell me that they don’t enjoy listening to music, whether it be rock, jazz, classical, electronica etc. It can be a source of relaxation, motivation, inspiration or just to let the hair down after a stressful day. For me at the moment it’s a good way of accentuating a mood that I’m currently feeling on the road whether it be with a group of new friends or just chilling by myself.
I’ve compiled and would like to share with you a playlist of those songs that I’ve playing on Spotify throughout this trip. The artist and genres are quite broad ranging from Icehouse to Fleetwood Mack, Radiohead, Daryl Braithwaite and The Fugees. I don’t think a day goes by when I don’t play something from the playlist and some days I play more songs than others. People have asked me if I’ve felt homesick and even after six and half months of travelling I still haven’t gotten homesick. I honestly feel that a huge part of this I feel is being able to access an ocean of music available online now through Spotify.
I spent the best part of the noughties decade listening to electronic music as I was spending way too much time in clubs and recoveries. I still love listening to that genre but nowadays, I spend alot of time listening to easier music that put me in a good mindset when travelling, researching where to go or writing.
So tell me my friends. What songs do you draw inspiration from whether it be travelling, relaxing or for motivation?
For the technoheads out there, this set got me through the steps from Aguas Calientes to Machu Pichuu
